Former SUG President reacts on the Suspension of Current SUG Executives & Parliament by Management

On The SUG Suspension. I received with shock and displeasure the news that
management of the University Of Benin suspended the activities of the Students' union government. I believe this is an ill-informed decision and it is inimical to the existence of a just society and also very detrimental to the wellbeing of the students' of Uniben.

By undertaking this move, The university management has presented themselves as an authoritarian regime poised on silencing the voice of any opposition. The students' had a right to peaceful protest to drive home their demand and therefore should not be punished for embarking on a just cause.
I call on the vice chancellor and members of the Senate to reconsider their stance on this issue. The University of Ibadan did same and got away with it does not mean same can stand in UNIBEN.I know the Vice-chancellor is a man who listens. Please, make this right sir.
I call on calm and peace on the part of the students and I urge the president of the union in conjunction with NANS to lead a viable deliberation and dialogue towards resolving this impasse.
