List of Notable persons in the society who went to UNIBEN


Today, we bring to you notable persons in the society who once schooled in the Great University of Benin and they are still doing well. Read the details below.


1. Babatunde Raji FasholaSAN (born 28 June 1963) was thr former Lagos State Governor from May 29, 2007 to May 29, 2015.  He studied Law at the University of Benin from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B.(Hon), degree in 1987.


2. Sir Victor Uwaifo (born 1 March 1941)  is a Nigerian musician, writer, sculptor, and musical instrument inventor. He also served as commissioner for arts and culture in Edo State under the government of Lucky Igbinedion. Uwaifo is famous for his joromi music. He records under the name Sir Victor Uwaifo. He earned a master's degree from the University of Benin in 1994, where he studied fine and applied arts and majored in sculpture.


3.Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan (born 22 October 1954) was the former governor of Delta state from 2007 to 2015. A medical doctor by profession, He studied at the University of Benin(1975–1980) earning a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree, and a Diploma in Anaesthesia. 


4.Richard Mofe Damijo (popularly known as RMD, born 6 July 1961) is a Nigeria nactor and politician. He is a former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in delta state, Nigeria. He enrolled into the University of Benin to continue his education and studied Theatre Arts.



5.Bright Okpocha (born 14 September 1978 in Lagos), better known by his stage name Basketmouth, is a Nigerian comedian and actor. pursue a degree at the University of Benin where he studied sociology and anthropology.



6.Oladipo Agboluaje (born 1968) is a British playwright. He was born in Hackney and educated in Britain and Nigeria, studying theatre arts at the University of Benin. He is also an actor...




7.Emmanuel Osa Agwoje (born 7 April 1962) is a Nigerian banker and businessperson. He is currently the chief executive officer of Equator Capital Ltd.In 1982, he became the President of the University's chapter of Nigerian Economics Students Association. At the University of Benin, he earned a M.SC in economics Class 1986 as the best graduating student, his area of emphasis being money and banking.


8.Iyom Josephine Anenih (born 1948) was appointed Nigerian minister of Women Affairs on 6 April 2010, when Acting President Goodluck Jonathan announced his new cabinet. Studying Law, she received a B.Ed, LLB, and B.L. from the University of Ife (1974/75) and the University of Benin.
