Two Uniben Students Accused for Car theft released, investigation continues

In line with the union's exco SAFE IMPACT objective to protect and defend the rights of our esteemed and law abiding students, the SAFE IMPACT team Chief legal adviser Hon. John
Chukwuyem Aigbogun is poised more than ever before to impact positively on the lives of students.
In pursuance of this objective, students are hereby informed that the office of the Attorney General of the students' union government has been repositioned for effective response to issues affecting students.
To this effect, students are advised to contact the honorable Attorney General whenever they have issues with the security agencies (police, uniben security etc) on or off campus.
Note however that while the Attorney General would be there to defend and protect our rights, we must be cautious not to run foul of the law in our actions.
Note also that you have a constitutionally guaranteed right not to speak or make any comment until proper consultation with your lawyer who in this case is the Union's A.G for proper guide whenever you have issues with the security agencies.
As for the two of our students that were alleged to have stollen a vehicle, successful efforts have been made to release them from detention while investigation of the case is still on going.
