The foundation block for the new four floors University of Benin Senate Building, approved by the Federal Government, has been laid by the Institution’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN.
The Vice Chancellor described the moment as historic and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for approving the project to be executed through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TetFund.
Professor Omoregie said it is a direct high impact project expected to provide befitting offices for the Pro-Chancellor, Principal Officers and other functionaries as well as a conducive meeting place for the University’s Senate.
The Project Coordinator of Spectrum Engineering Company, handling the edifice, Engr. Abubakar Isa, on his part, said the company is poised to deliver on the target of 18 months completion duration as they have mobilised men and materials to site.
With the Vice Chancellor at the groundbreaking ceremony were the Deputy Vice Chancellor(Administration) Professor Christopher Osubor, The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Victor Igbineweka, the Registrar, Mr Ademola Bobola and other Management staff of the University.
