The University of Benin (UNIBEN) was filled with excitement and celebration as Edomwonyi Osariemen, a 200-level student from the Faculty of Engineering, emerged the proud winner of a brand-new car at the MTN Go MAD (Make A Difference) On Campus with MTN Pulse event.

The car presentation took place at the Hall 2 Car Park, where students gathered to witness the highly anticipated moment. The Go MAD On Campus initiative, powered by MTN Pulse, is designed to engage, entertain, and reward students for their creativity, participation, and loyalty to the brand.

When Osariemen’s name was announced, the atmosphere erupted with cheers, as friends, fellow students, and MTN representatives celebrated the life-changing prize. The event highlighted MTN Pulse’s commitment to empowering students and creating unforgettable experiences on campuses across Nigeria.

Speaking after receiving the keys, Osariemen expressed gratitude to MTN Pulse for the incredible reward and shared excitement about the new opportunities this win brings.

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has officially released the first batch of its admission list for the 2025 Post-UTME exercise.

3. Access CAPS: On the dashboard, click on the option labeled “Access my CAPS” to enter the CAPS portal. 

4. Check Admission Status: On the CAPS dashboard, click on “Admission Status” to see if you have been offered admission. 

5. Accept/Reject Offer: If you have been admitted, you will see an option to “Accept” or “Reject” the admission. Make your choice carefully, as this decision cannot be changed later. 

6. Print Admission Letter: After accepting the offer, you can print your official admission letter from the portal. You will need this for clearance and registration at your institution.

All applications should be made between 7.00 am on 1st September,  2025, and 12.00 midnight of 5th October, 2025.
 The procedure for the 2025/2026 application is as follows:
Visit any JAMB CBT Centre to register as a Part-Time Candidate
With the JAMB Registration Number obtained, visit www.uniben.edu
On the UNIBEN.EDU site, Select Student Portal; then the https://www.uniben.edu
Candidates are advised to have a valid e-mail account before starting the application process (Please note: do not use the cyber-cafe’s email).
Click on PART-TIME STUDIES APPLICATIONS 2025/2026
Click on Register for application at the top left of the displayed page to proceed.
Provide all necessary information. Note that * means compulsory fields.
An immediate mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided.
Open your mail to get your system generated ID and Password that you will use to login.
On uniben.edu click on ‘Login’ (top right of the front page).
Enter your user name and the password from the mail to login.
To start the application process, please click on ‘Edit application record’ and provide all required information and upload your passport photograph.
Upload a clear 1” x 1” COLOURED passport photograph with red background in JPEG format only. NOTE that the photograph uploaded will be the only valid ID for all admitted candidates throughout their stay in the University of Benin.

FAILURE TO UPLOAD THE SPECIFIED PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION AND FAILURE/FORFEITURE OF ADMISSION.

To pay for the Application, click on “Add online payment ticket” at the bottom of the page, then click on “Pay with Remita” on the top left corner of the page, follow the instruction to pay the application fee of Nineteen Thousand, five Hundred Naira (#19,500) only, with an ATM-Enabled Verve or Master Card from any commercial Bank.

Note: NO APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION SHALL BE VALID THAT DOES NOT CARRY A JAMB REGISTRATION NUMBER
Candidates may not need to write an Entrance Examination. However, screening will be done on the basis of the O’ Level/JUBEP/Diploma results of candidates. Candidates should go back online two weeks after the deadline for application for their admission status.

The application website closes on 5th October, 2025 (i.e., all applications must be concluded online not later than 5th October, 2025).

The University of Benin has announced a strict policy prohibiting the use of its facilities for political or union-related activities at its Ugbowo and Ekehwan campuses. According to a statement released on Thursday by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Benedicta Ehanire, officials managing university facilities have been instructed to reject any requests for events that do not align with the institution’s academic mission.

The university’s management emphasized that its facilities are not to be used for political or union events, such as meetings or rallies, without prior approval. The statement reads,“The Management of the University of Benin has stated its aversion to the use of the University’s facilities in its two campuses for any political or union event, including meetings and rallies without approval.

“Management has, therefore, directed the officials overseeing all its facilities not to entertain any request or application for the use of such facilities for purposes inconsistent with the mandate of the University as an academic institution.”

Additionally, the university has advised leaders of staff and student unions to refrain from organizing gatherings without formally notifying and obtaining approval from the administration. This move underscores the institution’s focus on maintaining an environment dedicated to academic pursuits.
