There has been many questions as regards second semester (2016/2017 session) by
students of the University of Benin. Below is an Update from Hon. Ikotun Gideon Kelechi(Uniben SUG PRO). Read below...In line with the controversies surrounding the resumption of second semester, the Registrar of the university in an update observed that many faculties/schools and institutes are yet to display their time-table for second semester lectures in respect of 2016/2017 academic session. Consequently, students are not properly guided as to when lectures will commence for second semester. For the avoidance of doubt, lectures began for the second semester on 27th march 2017.
You will recall that senate in its emergency meeting of 3rd February, 2017 adjusted the first semester examination time-table for 100 and 200 level students who were expected to conclude their examinations and resume studies for the second semester without break while the approved 2016/2017 academic calendar remains.
In the light of the above, provost, Deans, Directors and Head of Departments are requested to come out with the second semester lecture time-table and ensure that all students are back to class for thier lectures.
Please Note: lectures begins for second semester 27th march, 2017 and ends 17th June, 2017.
